Welcome everyone to the MagicMethod Phone Sourcing site! There is an incredible amount of information on this site about telephone names sourcing and general information about all-things-sourcing. The best advice I can give you at your entry point is to GET INVOLVED - come to the class chats at noon (EST) on T and Th here on the network and PARTICIPATE! Ask questions (we won't laugh!), offer solutions (we're glad to hear them!) and in general, make friends! Read the profiles of other members - there is a lot of good information contained on those as well! Reach out - offer to help - make yourself available to others. Create a group that is of interest to you and guide it along! Contribute your thoughts to your Blog Postings and to the Forum. If you want to become a part of the names sourcing industry it's up to you to put in the time and effort to learn about it. You can do that here.
If you'd like to lead a webinar, one of our famous "class chats" or become a sponsor for this site let me know!

Following are several "how-to" instructions on how to do different things on this site. If you don't find what you're looking for, remember, the Ning platform also has a
Q&A that you can access.
HOW TO LINK
If you want to set a link into a post say whatever it is you want to say into the Posting Box. Copy the url of the site you want to link to. Choose a word as your launching site (the word you want to link) and highlight it (left-click over the word to highlight). Now move your cursor to the Toolbar and look for the symbol that looks like a chain link (second from right). Left-click on it. A box will come up (near the top - mine is pale yellow) that says,
"This website is using a scripted window to ask you for information. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows..." (Yeah, I know it's a pain in the ass.) Click on it. ANOTHER window comes up with two choices - choose
"Temporarily allow scripted windows". Now left-click again on your chosen word to highlight it again. A "Script Prompt" box will come up near the top. Set your (copied) url into that. Click OK. WA-LA! Your link is set.
HOW TO ITALICIZE
Set your cursor over the beginning of the portion you want to italicize. Left click and pull cursor to end of portion you want to italicize. Move your cursor up to the Toolbar and left-click on the symbol that looks like an "I" that is leaning to the right (
I) - it is the second one from the left. Left-click on it and WA-LA! Your choice is italicized!
HOW TO BOLD
Set your cursor over the beginning of the portion you want to bold. Left click and pull cursor to end of portion you want to bold. Move your cursor up to the Toolbar and left-click on the symbol that looks like a capital b (
B) - it is the first one from the left. Left-click on it and WA-LA! Your choice is bolded!
HOW TO UNDERLINE
Same drill if you want to
underline (pick the symbol third from the left that looks like a capital u (U) with a line
beneath it.
HOW TO STRIKE THROUGH
Same drill if you want to leave
something in your post with a line drawn through it - choose the symbol that looks like a capital s (S) with a line drawn
through it.
SETTING A PICTURE IN
And if you want to set a picture in (and who doesn't - this sometimes brings a whole other message and usually much more meaning to a post!) here's how:
Find a picture that is a good representation for what you're saying (I use Google Images). Save it to your pictures file. Now, when you want to set the pic (I usually set it after I write something - sometimes the writing gives me other ideas for pics) set your cursor at the top of the page, before your post writing. Click on the symbol in the Toolbox above the Posting Box that looks like a picture (mine has color in it - green and blue) and is to the far right of the choices. Click on it. A box will come up that says "Add an Image". Click on browse and then find your saved picture in your Pics file. Left double-click on your picture and then click "Add". WA-LA! Your pic is added!
HOW TO CHAT
If you want to real-time chat with someone that is online simply type your message into the smaller horizontal box at the bottom of the larger chat box (chat has moved (
hopefully for the time being!) to the bottom of the main page) and hit "Enter'. It couldn't be easier!
I hope this is a useful guide.

COMMENTS POLICY
We are proud to have a rich and intelligent comments section. As our readership gets larger and new people join the discussion, however, I have a few small requests:
1. No grotesque profanity.
2. No attacks or insults aimed at other commenters. Calling a public official an idiot is one thing; calling someone who just wrote a comment an idiot is another.
3. No attacks or insults aimed at entire categories of people based on race, gender, religion, national origin or identity, or something similar.
If I see comments falling into these categories, I will delete them. I am also adding filters on a few words to flag comments for moderation. I expect most of those comments will be approved. For example, if you use the word “moronic,” I just want to check that you are referring to, say, a limited notion that Internet research will fill all your sourcing requirements, not a previous comment.
Also note that we use a spam filter which very rarely, but occasionally, trap a legitimate comment as spam. If I see that happen I will rescue and publish the comment.
You need to be a member of MagicMethod Phone Sourcing to add comments!
