I recently received an email from a recruiter who advertises heavily his recruiter training. Part of it said:

Voluntary turnover will increase, accelerating your hiring demands. Your workforce is now under attack by every recruiter who now has the latest version of LinkedIn Recruiter. We know this since we teach them how to use LinkedIn.

He’s right.

I wonder when companies will smarten up about this.

LinkedIn workforce representation So which is it? 5% or 32%?

October 2012

We just pulled a group of 58 at a major world-class defense company here in the U.S.

19 are on LinkedIn.

Most of them only say "Engineer" (or some variant) in their titles and would not be identifiable as being in the correct group my customer wanted (mechanical subsystems) w/out going calling in and pulling the names directly from the company!

What Percentage Of The Workforce Is Really Represented On LinkedIn?

In the coming year I'm going to keep a running tally here on the different jobs I do and report the percentage of names I gather by telephone sourcing that are on LinkedIn.

I just finished an IT job and you'd think IT would be heavily represented on LinkedIn, wouldn't you? (I did - I figgered it would be second to LinkedIn's most populous and ravenous population - recruiters and sourcers!) It may still well be.
