What do you think sourcing brings to the recruiting process?: Dynamic stream of people that otherwise would have no hope of ever finding out about your opportunitites.

Do you think one type of sourcing produces better results than another? Which and why?: I do but I am biased heavily towards telephone names sourcing. That's NOT to say Internet sourcing can't produce some great stuff - it can! Many telephone names sourcing projects begin with Internet sourcing.

If you come, let me know and I will help you book a condo at the beach. It used to be a small oceanside town with rich history (think smalltime Savannah.) Now it has grown to a population of almost 200K. There is a beautiful inland waterway. If you don't like sweltering heat and humity, best time to visit is Jan. through March. We are 90 miles from Disney, and exactly half way between Daytona Beach and Jacksonville Airport. If you like shopping, we have two massive outlet malls with ALL the big name brand stores...Gucci, Saks, Coach, etc. If you golf, we have World Golf Village and The TPC at Sawgrass. Did some research, found large church that had networking for job hunters, connected with them, a local referred a relative who was out of state but qualified and happy with relocating to the area - we got our hire pretty quickly. I have enjoyed learning about sourcing from you over the years. We met while I was running a recruitment team at PacifiCare a few years ago. I left PacifiCare for an operational executive role at Vistage (formerly TEC) recruiting ex-CEOs to build and run peer groups. Then started my own executive coaching business about a year and a half ago. I am now looking to get back into a talent acqusition leadership role and am interviewing with several well-know companies to lead their recruitment efforts.

Sourcing is such an important part of a great internal talent acquisition process, that I will encourage all my recruiters to join.

Thanks for all you do to help recruitment teams run better.
