Do you think one type of sourcing produces better results than another? Which and why?
I do but I am biased heavily towards telephone names sourcing. That's NOT to say Internet sourcing can't produce some great stuff - it can! Many telephone names sourcing projects begin with Internet sourcing.

Hi Maureen,
I have attended some sourcing classes. My favorite content involves cold calling candidates...I don't do sales but finding candidates and getting them on the phone is what I do most. Hearing how other people handle these situations, come-backs, managing resistance etc is my favorite content. I very much enjoy your site.

Hi Maureen,

I have enjoyed learning about sourcing from you over the years. We met while I was running a recruitment team at PacifiCare a few years ago. I left PacifiCare for an operational executive role at Vistage (formerly TEC) recruiting ex-CEOs to build and run peer groups. Then started my own executive coaching business about a year and a half ago. I am now looking to get back into a talent acqusition leadership role and am interviewing with several well-know companies to lead their recruitment efforts.

Sourcing is such an important part of a great internal talent acquisition process, that I will encourage all my recruiters to join.

Thanks for all you do to help recruitment teams run better.

No relation to Rob (that I know of). Will jump in on a class soon. I have to thank you - I requested information on having you source for me and I got to the part of writing down everyone I had spoken with about the position. In doing that, I called the companies and basically made sure I had over-turned all the stones, and found a couple of more potential candidates. While I didn't send you business, thank you for making me look at what I had not done! :-)

Hi Maureen-

I have been able to listen to a few past classes and I really enjoyed them! I will try to schedule it on my calendar for Tuesdays classes; it would be great to listen in while they are happening! Thanks for being such a great educational and fun resource for sourcing! Enjoy the weekend :-)

Hi Maureen,

Yes, I receive the notices for the phone sourcing class, but have yet to attend. Additionally, I periodically review the site for any new information that might pertain to what I'm currently researching, etc. Thanks!

Hi Maureen,

I haven't spent much time yet, at this site, but certainly plan on doing so, sooner rather than later.

Biz could certainly be better (actually volumes have fallen off a cliff), but trying to stay busy, by expanding my target audience for sourcing services. In fact, right now working on identifying two potential acquisition target companies in the Oracle & SAP implementation space. Any ideas/suggestions?

You have a great day!

Hi Maureen, I would like to see something on sourcing in a recession or reverse sourcing, say for a candidate looking for a job. Perhaps you have covered this already this year...

Also, your Lipstick blog on ERE raises some interesting points, any of those might work also :)
