About Me:

I am an AIRS certified Internet Researcher and Sourcer that has supported middle management to executive recruiting for the past five years. I started out on the agency side with Futurestep, a Korn/Ferry company and moved on to ACS Inc., a six billion dollar outsourcing company. My outlook is that a Researcher has to keep up with the latest trends, tools and techniques for name generation and recruiting in general, objectively evaluate databases and foster good vendor relationships, develop a network of possible future candidates while at the same time keep an eye on competitors in the industry one is serving in. Front End Recruiting leads all else in the cycle.

Do you think one type of sourcing produces better results than another? Which and why?

I like well developed search strings because they lead to much more than names

Quick and Dirty - if you had six hours to source 50 Process Engineers in the chem/energy/food/pharma industry what would you do?

First I would be sure of what a process engineer is and if education differs for each of these industries. Then if I had no resources other than the free Internet I would use search strings for each of the three main engines and hack LinkedIn as well.

If you had a week?

The same but also search out user groups in various engines.

Where do you learn about name sourcing?

Self taught through various online forums but got AIRS certified two years ago and recently recertified. Also follow key people on a continual basis like Maureen, Glenn Gutmacher, Shally Steckerl among others.

Who are the thought leaders in name sourcing?

mentioned above but new ones come up all the time such as Moises Perez, Dimitri Boylan of Avature, Dennis Smith of wirelessjobs, etc.

What training have you had/are you currently taking?

AIRS CIR and PHR - but now focusing on tools and following those that develop them and also experiment with them.

Imagine what you would do if you could not possibly fail. ALSO - Assume positive intent.

Internet to get me through the phone barriers.
